This year Dobcross Silver Band have decided to introduce the Player of the Year award which is an annual award for one member of the band. This award is given to the member who has stood out in the band to be making a big difference. There is also a Player of the Month award to be handed every month to the player who has worked the most to improve.
28.02.10 - Player of the Year 2009
The Player of the Year Award for 2008 was awarded to Susan Whitby. Susan is the longest serving member of Dobcross Band, and is very dedicated to the organisation. Aswell as being the band's repiano player, Susan has been the band's librarian for many years and without her hard work and efforts Dobcross Band would not be the same.
Congratulations to Susan from the whole band!!
27.02.10 - Player of the Month - February
The Player of the Month Award for February has been awarded to Nicola Smethurst. Nicola joined the Silver Band last month on 2nd horn from the Youth Band and has improved in all areas since whilst showing dedication and commitment. She is loving her time at the Silver Band so far and hopes to have a long and successful stay with us. The runner up prize for the award was presented to Michael Cavanagh, who is the bands dedicated and hardworking 2nd baritone player.
