This year Dobcross Silver Band have decided to introduce the Player of the Year award which is an annual award for one member of the band. This award is given to the member who has stood out in the band to be making a big difference. There is also a Player of the Month award to be handed every month to the player who has worked the most to improve.
31.03.08 - Player of the Month - March
The Player of the Month Award for March has been awarded to James Brooks. James, aged 15 plays 2nd Euphonium with the band and has improved tremendously over the past month. James joined the band last year from Diggle B Band, and since then he has worked extremely hard, helping to raise the standard of the band. The runner up prize for the award was presented to Steven Cavanagh, also aged 15 who is the band's 1st baritone.
01.02.08 - Player of the Year 2007
The Player of the Year Award for 2007 was awarded to Susan Whitby. Susan is the longest serving member of Dobcross Band, and is very dedicated to the organisation. Aswell as being the band's repiano player, Susan has been the band's librarian for many years and without her hard work and efforts Dobcross Band would not be the same.
